Welcome to the Malta Type Approval Committee (TAC) digital platform. By accessing or using this website and its services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not use the platform.

About the Platform

The TAC platform is the official digital system for vehicle type approval services in Malta under Regulation (EU) 2018/858 and applicable UN Regulations. The platform provides the following services:

  • Submission and management of manufacturer registration applications
  • Submission and management of technical service designation applications
  • Individual vehicle approval applications
  • Type approval certificate management and verification
  • Audit scheduling, execution, and reporting
  • Non-conformity tracking and resolution
  • Document upload and management
  • Secure messaging between stakeholders
  • Online payment processing for application and service fees

User Accounts

Access to certain features of the platform requires a registered user account. Accounts are managed through a secure identity provider. By creating an account, you agree to the following:

  • You must provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information during registration and maintain its accuracy thereafter.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
  • You must notify the TAC immediately if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account.
  • The TAC reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or are used for fraudulent purposes.

Acceptable Use

When using the platform, you agree not to:

  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information in any application or form
  • Upload documents that are forged, altered, or otherwise inauthentic
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform, other user accounts, or connected systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the platform, including through the introduction of malware or denial-of-service attacks
  • Use the platform for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms
  • Reproduce, duplicate, or exploit any part of the platform for commercial purposes without express written permission

Applications and Submissions

All information, documents, and data submitted through the platform must be accurate and truthful. You acknowledge that:

  • The TAC relies on the accuracy of submitted information when making regulatory decisions.
  • Submission of false or misleading information may result in the refusal, suspension, or withdrawal of approvals and certificates.
  • Application fees are generally non-refundable once an application has been submitted for review, unless otherwise specified.
  • Processing times depend on the completeness and accuracy of submitted information and the complexity of the application.

Intellectual Property

The content, design, layout, and functionality of this platform, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, and software, are the property of the TAC or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content on this platform without prior written consent, except as necessary for the normal use of the services provided.

Payments

Certain services on the platform require payment of prescribed fees. By initiating a payment, you agree that:

  • All payments are processed through secure third-party payment providers.
  • You are responsible for ensuring that your payment information is accurate and that sufficient funds are available.
  • Fee schedules are published on the platform and may be updated from time to time in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Refund policies are determined on a case-by-case basis in accordance with applicable law.

Limitation of Liability

The TAC strives to ensure that the platform is available and functioning correctly at all times. However:

  • The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. The TAC does not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components.
  • The TAC shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the platform.
  • The TAC is not responsible for any loss or damage resulting from scheduled or unscheduled maintenance, system failures, or circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

Governing Law
